Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening
Determination: Implied — Blasphemy 2
The gate to Hell is opened by chanting the seven deadly sins and spilling the blood of a priestess's descendant.
Devil May Cry 3 builds its central ritual out of Christian doctrinal furniture. Temen-ni-gru is described in the game's own character files as a holy tower constructed by disciples of the demon clan, raised by those who revered evil. Sparda sealed it two thousand years earlier using his own blood and that of a pure human priestess. Undoing that seal is the plot: Vergil bleeds himself in a sacrificial chamber called the Lair of Judgment, and when that fails, Arkham reveals the true key is Lady, a descendant of the sacrificed priestess, and stabs her for her blood. As the tower activates, its rising platform collects seven demonic bells representing the seven deadly sins, and Arkham calls upon the sins in a chant to unseal the final door. His stated ambition is to rule as a god.
