The satanic material is mostly jokes and an easter egg hidden in the soundtrack's frequencies.
The 2016 reboot inherits the series' hell but handles the iconography far more lightly than the original games. Most of it lands as corporate satire: the UAC's internal communications treat demons as an energy business, with one log inviting new employees to sign up for team-bonding pentagram tattoos. The most-discussed instance is not visible at all — the track Cyberdemon, by composer Mick Gordon, renders the number 666 spaced out by pentagrams when its frequencies are viewed through a spectrogram. Gordon teased its existence and later confirmed it. Recorded as ambient: the material is real and deliberate, but it is jokes and an easter egg rather than the pervasive environment art of the 1993 game.
