Dragon Age: Origins
Determination: Implied — Corruption 2, Blasphemy 2
A pilgrimage to a prophet's relic that the player is free to desecrate, inside a church built on the Catholic model.
Dragon Age: Origins establishes the Chantry, the invented church the series is built around, and the modelling is close: a Divine in Val Royeaux, Revered Mothers, Grand Clerics, chantries in every town, a templar order, and the Circles of Magi the templars guard. The faith centres on Andraste, a prophet martyred by burning, and on the Maker. The most direct content is the Urn of Sacred Ashes quest, a pilgrimage to Andraste's reliquary guarded by a Guardian and a series of tests of faith. At its end the dragon-cult leader Kolgrim offers the player a bargain: defile the ashes and take a reward. The game permits it. That an act of deliberate sacrilege against a saint's relic is a supported player choice is what lifts this above ambient.
