Genshin Impact is set in Teyvat, ruled by seven Archons who are worshipped as gods by their nations. Each Archon carries a second, older name drawn from real demonological sources: Barbatos, Morax, Beelzebul, Baal and others appear in the Ars Goetia, and Beelzebub is a demon named in the Gospels. Mondstadt’s state religion, the Church of Favonius, is built from Christian institutional furniture — a cathedral, a deaconess, sisters, nuns and hymns.
