Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse
Determination: Explicit — Deicide 3, Denial 3
The final boss is YHVH, named outright, and the game's stated goal is to kill him.
Apocalypse is the most direct entry in the series and the clearest case of the Deicide category in this catalogue. The player, revived by the god Dagda, is drawn into a conflict between the Divine Powers — the angelic administration of the ruined Tokyo — and everything else. The route the game builds toward ends with an alliance of deities assembled from multiple pantheons storming the Great Divine Power's domain to confront YHVH, who is named rather than alluded to, and killing him. The justification offered is that he is a tyrant sustained by human worship and that his death liberates humanity. This is not a villain's plan the player thwarts. It is the objective.
