South Park: The Fractured But Whole
Determination: Implied — Blasphemy 2
A church side mission turns two Catholic priests into a boss fight, with the clerical abuse scandal as the joke.
The Fractured But Whole handles religion differently from its predecessor. Faith is a stat: the player picks a religion on the character sheet, and doing so routes them into Father Maxi's quest line at the South Park church. The mission A Touch of Faith culminates in a boss fight against two Catholic priests, played as the New Kid fending off their advances — the clerical abuse scandal used directly as combat material. Completing it yields the Purity Bond artifact and a summon for Moses. A follow-up mission, Touch the Sky, sends the player to Stark's Pond to settle a spiritual alignment, where Jesus appears and offers to take a selfie. As with the first game the register is satire rather than argument, and Father Maxi is a helper rather than a villain, which holds this at implied.
